Drops markedly in class having contested the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham when last seen and has a solid record at Warwick, posting two wins and a third from three prior runs at the course. A couple of lbs above last winning mark but the combination of the drop in grade and the return to a course he has shown a liking for in the past means he should be able to get competitive, with confidence boosted a little given his stable are finally starting to show signs of a return to form following a tough couple of months.

SANDY PARADISE 5/1 (B365 – 4 places) – 0.5pts e/w WON +3.12pts

Caught the eye with his second behind the re-opposing Noodle Mission on penultimate run and also ran well for second at Lingfield last time out. Yet to score here at Chelmsford but all four career wins have come on a polytrack surface and he has made the frame in 70% of all runs over this trip so a similar run to either of his last two would bring him right in to the mix. Also worth noting that trainer Richard Hughes operates at a 23% win & 60% place strike rate at the course and has a level stakes profit record of +£58.83 over the last three years.

WONDER STARELZAAM 5/1 (Skybet – 4 places) – 0.5pts e/w Lost -1pt

Hasn’t been seen since last August however that’s unlikely to cause issue as his record for Denis Coakley when returning from a break of over 70 days reads 111. He’s back down to his last winning mark, made the frame on his only prior visit to the course, is proven at the trip and has posted all three all-weather victories on a polytrack surface, plus he’s won five from eleven with George Bass in the saddle. All things considered, he should have a solid chance today.
