Aidan O’Brien has won three of the last ten renewals of this race and runs three in attempt to win it again, however the best form on offer comes from Andrew Baldings’ Kameko who followed up his debut victory with an excellent second in the Group 3 Solario Stakes last month, getting to within a nose of winner Positive.
Highland Chief ran a cracker when third behind Pinatubo & Lope Y Fernandez in the Chesham and looks the principal danger, while Pyledriver and Sound Of Cannons finished first and second on soft ground over todays’ trip when they met at Haydock earlier in the month and look the most likely to battle it out for third.

Etoile hasn’t been seen since winning a Group 3 over six furlongs at Naas in May but despite this still looks the more likely of Aidan O’Brien’s two as he attempts to win this race for the fourth consecutive year. Tropbeau, Living In The Past and Nurse Barbara could all play a part if continuing to improve, however for the winner it is difficult to look past the favourite Raffle Prize who is a dual Group 2 winner and ran the unbeaten Earthlight to within a neck in the Group 1 Prix Morny last time out.

An absolutely fascinating renewal with Earthlight, Siskin and Mums Tipple all putting their unbeaten records on the line, with both Threat and Lope Y Fernandez also boasting strong form and progressive profiles.
A win for Raffle Prize in the race before this would boost the form of Earthlight. Unbeaten in four, with a Group 1 victory under his belt and with form on good-to-soft ground, he looks a worthy favourite. That said, it was impossible not to be impressed with Mums Tipple and his eleven-length demolition of rivals at York last month, posting a very quick time, and although this is a step up in Grade if he can reproduce an effort like last time out then he could prove tough to beat.
Siskin has twice go the better of Monarch Of Egypt and although the Aidan O’Brien runner got closer second time round I still can’t see that form being reversed, for all that I believe that the winner of this race will come from elsewhere.
