NAP Moabit 3/1 (B365) – Salisbury 16:55 – 2pts win WON +6pts
Unbeaten in two over course and distance, four wins from five in this class and has an excellent record on testing ground.
NB Kadiz 10/3 (laddys) – Salisbury 14:00 – 2pts win Lost -2pts
Ginger Nut could only manage fourth behind Kadiz (second) and Cotubanama (third) when they all met at Newmarket earlier this month and Richard Hughes’ runners tend to improve for their first run so it is Kadiz who is taken to confirm the form and come out on top again.
3B Daddies Girl 4/1 (sky) – Salisbury 16:45 – 2pts win Lost -2pts
Won at this meeting last season, is two from three at the course and has winning form in testing conditions.
LUCKY 15 1.5pts total win (B365) -0.8pts
NAP 3/1 WON
NB 3/1 Lost
3B 4/1 Lost
Edge 4/1 – Salisbury 14:30 3rd
2 wins and a 3rd from 5 runs at the course and one of the few in the field who has won on heavy ground.
Original NAP & NB from Gowran Park, unfortunately meeting abandoned
NAP Jaega 7/4 (PP) – Gowran Park 14:20 – 2pts win NR – Gowran abandoned
Jaega was an impressive winner at Leopardstown earlier in the month, winning by over six lengths with what looked to be any amount in hand. The sixth from this race has since gone on to win a Class 1 handicap so the form looks solid and trainer Dermot Weld has won this race four times in the last ten years so our selection should be more than capable of a big run and in turn provide his trainer with another victory in this race.
Clear Skies has done all her winning at Dundalk but has had a couple of placed efforts on turf so shouldn’t be underestimated, while Detailed won five times last summer including a couple over a similar trip to today and won’t mind conditions so could also be involved at the finish if fully fit following a six-month break.
NB Comeragh Haze 5/2 (PP) – Gowran Park 14:55 – 2pts win NR – Gowran abandoned
This meeting has proved fruitful for Dermot Weld and he has won this race three times in the last six years so both Imrana and Simiyna need to be respected. Simiyna was only a length behind the winner when third in heavy ground on debut and is entitled to improve for that performance, while Imrana has a couple of big race entries so should be capable of a decent run on debut. A similar comment applies to Aiden O’Brien’s runner Curly, although his runners are yet to fully fire so far this season so preference is for Comeragh Haze who races for a trainer with an excellent record at the course. A solid second in heavy ground on debut, she was doing her best work in the final 100 yards which suggests the step up in trip should suit.
